@amberrachelsweet: Why did you decide to

@amberrachelsweet: Why did you decide to get into this industry? I fell into acting in college, after never entertaining the idea. I went to college with a love for writing and an open mind, which basically meant I had no idea what I wanted to do. I went a whole year taking GE courses and daydreaming of traveling the world. Bored and rather lost, I took a Theatre 101 class. After having to perform a short scene (which terrified me to my very core), my professor approached me and told me that she saw something very special, a raw talent, and that she wanted to mentor me. She encouraged me to try out for the Fall play, and I was cast as the lead, having to navigate the brilliance of David Mamet, completely untrained. (I hope to God there is no video footage of that.) I was petrified, but once I set foot on the stage, everything came into focus. As cheesy as it sounds, I finally had my purpose, and I knew in that moment I wanted to be an actor. I auditioned for the Acting Conservatory AMDA, jumped on my bed when I learned I received a scholarship to attend, moved to LA, and never looked back.
