@yolondaross_creator: Why did you decide to get into this industry?

I was led to this place. It wasn’t a choice. I was led here to bring people and stories to life in a truthful and humane way, people that you see everyday, but never look at or take the time to know. I’m here to help people get to know and understand those that aren’t… Read More @yolondaross_creator: Why did you decide to get into this industry?

@Ashley_Says: What are you working on next? In addition, if people want to find out more about you, where can they find you on social media?

Words are on Twitter @Ashley_Says. Images are on IG @Ashley_Says. Next for me is continuing to edit my mockumentary feature and turn my play, superfecunda, into a film!

@Ashley_Says: What, if anything, do you collect?

I have a lot of books! I’ve moved several times and by far, the heaviest items I take with me are never shoes or clothes. Always books. One of them being my book of poetry, soy milk and agave!

@Ashley_Says: What advice do you have for other women in the industry?

Keep going. Listen to your inner voice to guide you and if you can’t hear her talking, clear out all distractions. Meditate. Take a bath. Do something FUN and she’ll speak to you loud and clear.

@Ashley_Says: What is a successful moment in your career so far?

All the jobs I’ve booked without an agent or a manager. I’ve gotten them all through my own volition, my own gusto, my own belief in myself. Or, I created the work.

@Ashley_Says: What is your biggest concern with the future?

Hmm, that things won’t shift. Or they’ll shift backward. Again. That in 20 years, we’ll still be undoing the mess that was created when this country began. And yes, it’ll take time but things are shifting so immensely right now that, maybe it won’t be long…?

@Ashley_Says: What’s a defining moment in your life?

Moving to England to get my Master’s degree from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I have a lot of family in England too. I loved living there!
