@rachelsamevans: What advice do you have for other women in the industry? Trust your own voice; don’t be a pushover even if you have the best intentions. That’s something I struggle with. I want everyone to feel good and I hate drama, so I tend to silence myself which doesn’t benefit anyone. You don’t have to know what you want, that changes, but you do have to know your worth and what you have to offer. If you’re in a job where you don’t feel like people appreciate the work you’re doing or you’re not respected, work hard- show don’t tell. If they still don’t treat you like you deserve to be treated quietly find a place that recognizes your ability. You’re not entitled to anything at all, so make sure you listen to people who might know more than you and make sure you deserve the respect you demand. ALSO don’t compromise your sense of self.
