@sarahthack: What is a successful moment in your career so far? I don’t like to define success by fancy awards or money (though I’ve heard those things are great), but rather by moments when as an artist or storyteller you know you’ve touched or inspired someone. I think that moment for me happened when my producer and I were doing a private screening of our MFA thesis film for two professors. The theatre was empty except for three students who were leaving after a previous class, and when the screening started, they sort of lingered near the exit and watched. We were excited to see when we would lose them (with a run time of nearly 40 mins, there was no way they would stay for the whole thing), so we started placing bets on when they’d walk out. Except they didn’t walk out – they stood and watched the entire thing. As the credits rolled, we ran down and thanked them for staying, and the two young women had tears streaming down their faces. It was absolutely the highlight of my life as a storyteller so far. #thereelwomen #girlboss #women #womenoflight #picoftheday #photooftheday #female #love #film #television #TV #media #art #FilmEquality #womeninfilm #femalefilmmakers #empoweringwomen #womenempower #betterhollywood #womendirect #girl #movies #movielover #create #me #happy #ladyboss #bosslady #girlgang #goals http://ow.ly/i/kqWoJ
