Films are a collaborative effort and you never know when you will encounter those individuals again. If you are a jerk, your reputation will precede you. Do not be afraid to ask for help in the beginning when you need it the most. We all have to start from somewhere. Approach the actors and crewmembers that you admire regardless of your budget. If they see the value in your project, they may want to be involved anyway.
