I can simply say it’s been the most painful and soul stretching few years of my existence without her. The show I was working on at the time didn’t treat me like a human being while all of my family stuff was happening. It didn’t used to bother me, but filmmaking is every moment life-and-death-high-stress-high-pressure-all-the-time. But when it actually came to life and death they went, “Meh.” And it’s made me question everything since. I love making movies but not at the expense of my self, my well-being, and the people I love.
