@ChelseaSawkins: What’s a defining moment in your life? A job forced me to realize when to quit. I was logging a mediocre performance in a position I no longer felt fulfilled by, but was incredibly grateful for. So I told myself I needed to ‘stick it out’ and felt like I had failed if I admitted I was unhappy. Even though this attitude led to errors in my work, I still strived to appear perfect and had trouble admitting mistakes, however miniscule. In my naiveté, I didn’t realize how unrealistic it is to constantly expect perfection from yourself. It’s only when I eventually moved on that I was able to understand and evolve beyond that toxic mindset. EVERYONE will have a misstep at some point: the real maturity lies in how you DEAL with it.
