When I decided to become a filmmaker I wasn’t really thinking about “the industry,” I just wanted to tell stories. Both my parents are in the industry – my Dad’s a writer and my Mom was an actress, but I didn’t really equate that with what I wanted to do. I loved taking pictures and I loved stories. When I was 13 I discovered how much movies affected me. I would sit in front of the TV and experience something that I had never experienced before. Something tangible. Movies made me feel seen. I didn’t have the words for it. Filmmaker, Director, none of that was in my vocabulary. I just knew what I was feeling, and I knew that’s what I needed to do.
