Realize you were born with purpose, on purpose and for a purpose. I take that advice with me where I go.
By my own definition, one of my most successful moments in my career thus far is writing my script, completing my script and taking myself serious enough to hire an editor to work with me on revising it. So that eventually, I can pitch my script.
One concern I have regarding the future is, will the injustices we have been fighting for century after century, ever be truly met with a permanent victory?
My baby-brother was murdered in 2011 and that moment changed what I believed about life, goals and purpose. I started becoming a person who moved with intention and passion; something I didn’t do before. That translates in my art now more than ever.
I have always loved the art of storytelling; in all mediums, but especially film-making. There is something beautiful about creating and evoking emotion with the use of visuals.

Black art from around the globe. I try at least, I’m on a budget. Recently though I’ve been getting a lot of plants. Since I don’t have a backyard, I’m bringing the outside, in.
1) If you’re gut is telling you something, you’re probably right. 2) There will be people who will purposely pretend not to see you. That’s OK. Sucks for them. 3) Do the work. 4) If you’re a white woman, pay attention, and listen, to the Black women and WOC who work beside you.
I have many that I’m proud of but the biggest success has been sticking with my career even when I failed and still accomplishing each of the goals I’ve set out to do.
