People can follow me @danaverde on IG. I have a few projects I will be directing so be on the lookout in 2021.  Following in Jordan Peele’s footsteps, I’m going to make a few horror films that combine comedy & social critique but from a female perspective.

I like to collect ethnic art. When I travel I always buy something from local artists that represent their culture.

Trust your gut. Your instincts are vital. Trust them. Learn to listen to that inner voice. It won’t steer you wrong.

My most successful moment so far was when a script I wrote was made into a feature film and debuted #6 in the US Box Office. To think, something I wrote in my bedroom in Brooklyn for fun could end up on the big screen – a great moment.

My biggest concern is that the support of diversity in my industry will turn out to be a fad and not be about real change, that things will stay the same instead of moving forward.
