@yourethepestseries @frecklysoprano1: Why did you decide to get into this industry? I didn’t really have a choice. I started going to plays and musicals before I can remember. I did my first play when I was 8, but definitely got bit by the bug when I did Hello Dolly, my first musical when I was 10. After that, it was all downhill. I went to a performing arts school in Kentucky from grades 6-12. I spent summers at Shakespeare festivals and theatre camps and community theatre. Basically, I just love to pretend. It sounds childish to put it that way but what good is being an actor if you don’t love to play?! It’s fun to make a hat where there never was one before (thanks Sondheim). When I started to write and produce, it only opened up more opportunities to create new worlds and meet new people, whether fictional or real (which also makes me sound totally bonkers, but I’ll go with what Alice in Wonderland says….. all the best people are). I just mean, at a certain point,the worlds where I live as an actor and as a writer become very real to me, even if they aren’t where I live every day, and I cherish the opportunity to visit those places every chance I get.
