You know, for all the reasons people talk about, but also because it was the moment everything stopped being about me and what I needed and what I wanted. An amazing work opportunity fell into my lap when I was 9 months pregnant – it was the kind of opportunity that could have had a huge impact on my career and when it came down to it, it was easy to let go of because of what was about to come into my life. Nothing before or since my kid has been able to pull me off my career path so effortlessly. And he’s been my greatest teacher, hands-down.
