@julieasriyan: Why did you decide to get

@julieasriyan: Why did you decide to get into this industry? I grew up in the creative and performing arts. My parents were both musicians, artists, creatives. They’ve really nurtured in me and my sister this freedom of being able to create a whole world, tell a story, affect and be affected through and by the arts. There’s real magic in that. I’ve held on to that magic my whole life. I’ve always known I wanted to be a storyteller and that I loved to study, uncover and dislodge the human experience. It’s manifested for me in many different ways over the years. I’ve never felt totally comfortable identifying as only one type of artist- my studies and work have landed in diverse mediums that range from acting in theater and film, behind the camera, dance and movement, still and moving imagery, writing, and mixed-media… It’s taken me some time to wholly accept that it is ok to identify as a multi-disciplinary artist and that using multiple platforms through transmedia storytelling feels much richer and more fulfilling for me as an artist.
