I decided to work in this industry because I am exhilarated by storytelling. The idea of creating and showcasing a world where I can teach a stranger, or inspire them or make them laugh…that is really exciting to me.  I love the technical aspect-there are so many ways to tell a story, and the journey from an idea to final product is satisfying. Throughout the process you end up learning so much about yourself, your film, and the things you’re capable of. Also, as an African Black woman, I knew I had stories to tell that I wasn’t seeing onscreen, and I wanted to be able to contribute another perspective.
