Honestly, as a first-time filmmaker, who was part of a two woman crew with a shoestring budget, I wasn’t confident that my documentary “Stories Happen in Forests” would be well received, but so far it’s been accepted at 5 film festivals and counting. It’s an important reminder that story is everything. People are hungry for genuine, uplifting, diverse stories.
