I was temping at Fox News as an Admin Assistant one Summer when a group of young 20 somethings came in from what I remember to be their lunch break. They were so happy and joyous and we’re discussing taking a break to go to the gym and/or the new deli down the block. “What? The gym on a break, another break from lunch ?” The environment was so laxed and although these people had work to do, they still found time to balance generously with play. It may have been the floor I was on or just my Summer of luck but I don’t recall one bad interaction with any of my colleagues. Everyone was just…happy. I realized, in less than 4 hours of my first day at the office, corporate life could not only be lucrative but fun. When I went back to school in the fall I changed my major to Communications.
