Ahh.. this question feels heavy to me, especially with everything going on right now (Covid 19, George Floyd Protests, etc.) but the one moment that comes to mind and brings me great pleasure is, last Fall when I trained myself to swim 26 laps in my local YMCA pool. And when I say train, I mean train! I had to literally teach myself how to breathe, how to swim (correctly) and then build my endurance up to be able to swim over a certain distance. I remember when I could only swim one length. It seemed impossible and my chest ached to confirm it was; nonetheless I remained committed and held onto the belief that, “this is something new, you will be able to do this one day!” And one day, I did and it was victorious!!! I will never forget what I did for myself over those few months…I fought for me!
