I’ve always been a lover of movies since I was a kid. I knew when I was 13 years old, I wanted to work in the film / television industry. I thought acting was the only way to do that as there was very little representation behind the camera for minorities.  But then I started to see our stories like Boyz N The Hood, Love and Basketball, and Bound. I realized then that as a queer African-Amercian female, I could be a director too. So in 2004 I used Craiglist to gather a cast and cast and made my first short film.  I want to tell stories of the human condition with a focus on social justice, social issues and representing Women, Queer and African-American stories.
