I’ve been “running” away from the industry for a lot of my adult career. I’ve always loved writing, but sought the more “practical” route as an attorney, then a teacher. I finally went back to school to get an MFA in playwriting, and after taking a screenwriting course, fell in love with TV/Film (again). My careers have always been driven by advocacy and justice, and I finally had a lightbulb moment that it was (of course) possible and okay to also advocate through the screen.
