My first semester in law school. It was the only time I didn’t make any A’s, only C’s. And I was not necessarily humbled, but I was enlightened by the experience. I learned that defining myself by grades, lists, honors and so on did little to service my soul. It really made me question my purpose in life, and how I wanted to use my energy and talents. I went into huge debt to complete law school, so I’m reminded of that lesson every month when my student loans come due.
