Uncertainty. History still repeating. Hard heads. There is little stability in a writer’s world, and being a queer black woman, it feels like we have spurts of time when it’s OUR moment to be queer in the media, then to be black in the media, and maybe to be black and queer. It’s scary to consider that real systemic change in Hollywood might never come, and I’ll always have to depend on waves, and fads for my work to have a broader platform.
