There is a lot of imposter syndrome in our industry especially amongst women. This is a generalization, but I have watched many women make themselves feel smaller in spaces where we should demand space or be villainized for being too much. Be unapologetic, this is advice I still have to learn. Stick up for your vision because your perspective is just that YOURS, but also be open to feedback and mentorship because filmmaking is not a solo sport. We can’t do this alone. Above else – once you’ve received even an ounce of that support from others it’s important that you pay it forward and take the time to connect other women to each other without each other we get nowhere.
