1) Why did you decide to get into this industry?

Hello My name is Kelly Alejandra Cantoral and I am a singer, actress and producer from NYC. I am signed to GLITTER TALENT agency. I have always been passionate about performing, creating art and collaborating with other artists. I have booked multiple projects as an actor but also have produced various short films because I really enjoy bringing art to life.

 

 

2) What’s a defining moment in your life?

A defining moment in my life was when I decided to pursue music. I have been recording music on and off for the past several years. I also envied artists that displayed multiple talents and skills such as Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga and Janelle Monae which is why I’m passionate about pursuing both music and acting. I recently performed at the LATIN PLUG music festival at the Cachet Boutique organized by Mauricio Vega; late October. I had such a blast!

 

 

3) What is your biggest concern with the future?

Not being financial stable nor not being able to provide the proper funds to help my family.

 

 

4) What is a successful moment in your career so far?

I have had many short films premiered at various Film Festivals. A comedy short I recently had a supporting role called LA OFICINA premiered at the HIGHLAND PARK INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL in Los Angeles in October. Another comedy short called WASTE, which I acted and co produced also premiered at the OFFICIAL LATINO FILM FESTIVAL in July. Last year was also really exciting. A short drama, I helped fund as well as had a supporting role called THE FALLS screened at the CHELSEA FILM FESTIVAL in October. Having my hard work acknowledge by the public has been an incredibly rewarding experience!

 

 

5) What advice do you have for other women in the industry?

To get out of my way! HAHA! Just kidding. I honestly don’t know since I’m still struggling myself but I guess to take action everyday even if it’s a small step towards your goals.

 

 

6) What, if anything, do you collect?

My parents are from Guatemala so I collect a lot of memorabilia such as clothes, hair pins and small toys. I like to add them to my stage musical latin pop performances.
