“Sometimes the people who like to give brutal honesty are just looking to be brutal to someone, not to be honest.”

What pulled you into film and TV in the first place?

I wanted to emulate the safety I found in the escapism of movies for other kids like me one day.

What do you think the industry gets most wrong about women like you?

That what we have to say isn’t valuable or marketable.

What does success mean to you?

My definition of success is getting the chance to make art in its most collaborative form with other artists I admire and respect. Getting to make films with the homies is the dream!

What are you most proud of that most people don’t know about?

I wrote a stage play in 2018 that I’ve adapted many times into what is now a feature length film script.

What keeps you going when the industry makes it hard?

The community of other artists who I now have the privilege to call my friends.
