What pulled you into film and TV in the first place?
A Calling? My purpose: love and evolution of myself and the planet via storytelling and creativity.
What do you think the industry gets most wrong about women like you?
Our power, tenacity, creativity, and magic. On purpose. Because in a patriarchy based in capitalism, we are dangerous AF.
What does success mean to you?
Telling well crafted stories that entertain and truly evolve and awaken culture and society to love more and care for each other more on a global level that move the needle, and help us as a planetary society care for, protect, and if necessary save the earth and ourselves. I’m looking for laughter, tears, goosebumps, relief, breath, and full emotional experience, both in the making of it, with fellow healthy artists, the process and the present, as well as the resulting art made.
What are you most proud of that most people don’t know about?
Who I am as a mother and emergency foster mom.
What keeps you going when the industry makes it hard?
Service and activism.
What is one piece of advice you wish you had heard earlier?
Dig deep into life, art, family, love, friends, creativity, meditation, spirituality, and service. Build a rich, deep life that has nothing to do with the industry. Regardless of career success, fall in love with who you are being on this planet.
